Te Wānanga Whare Tapere o Takitimu is pleased to offer the Māori Performing Arts Gateway Cadetship 2021. This programme will assist students gain skills, experience, and kick-start a career in the exciting Creative Industries.
NZ2791: New Zealand Diploma in Ngā Toi – Level 5
Duration Total 36 weeks (1 year full-time)
Toi Ururangi is a level 5 NZQA accredited diploma that qualifies students with theoretical and practical knowledge and skills relation to Māori Performing Arts in Takitimu supported contexts.
Graduates may progress to Toi Ururoa | NZ2792: New Zealand Diploma in Ngā Toi – Level 6

Toi Ururoa is a level 6 NZQA accredited diploma that qualifies students with theoretical, technical and practical knowledge and skills relating to Māori Performing Art in Takitimu supported contexts.
Graduates may progress to Toi Ihorei | New Zealand Diploma in Ngā Toi – Level 7 (not currently being delivered in 2021)
Summer School Programme
Te Kura Raumati – Summer School programme first started in 1989 to provide Rangatahi the opportunity to learn the foundations of Māori Performing Arts in a two-week intense programme.
Performing Arts for After School
Toi Tūranga Holiday Program & Tiaki Tamariki, Māori Performing Arts for After School are for ages 8 years to 14 years.
The program develops tamariki in their skills for learning and retaining Māori Performing Arts in an after-school program, this is supported through play and activities that enhance their understanding of Māori performance from a child’s point of view.
