KAUPAPA – MISSION STATEMENT

The Takitimu Performing Arts School is a Whare Tapere (school of learning). It acknowledges the mana of reo, wairua, whakapapa, waiata, waiata kori, waiata poi, waiata haka, waiata ā ringa. It seeks to restore rangatiratanga, reaffirm tikanga Māori, and uphold mana Māori – tinana – wairua – hinengaro, all within the whānau, Hapū, Iwi, Tuku rangatiratanga whakapapa te mauri tangata, mana, iwi Te Tiriti o Waitangi Tino Rangatiratanga.

OUR AIMS

  • To uphold the mana of Māori cultural performing arts
  • To develop cultural education training programmes
  • To provide a heightened educational environment
  • To support self-directed employment
  • To integrate all the above into a concise package to answer an identified need.
